DBIS have commissioned Sector Skills Councils to provide high quality labour market information (LMI) to support the Adult Advancement and Careers Service. This project built upon the previous SSC IAG Project (2007/8) which supported the involvement of all 25 SSCs in the review of LMI provision by SSCs in preparation for the new Adult Advancement and Careers Service (AACS) in England.

The LMI developed for this project is aimed at guidance practitioners working both in the pilot project activity and the developing Adult Advancement and Careers Service. 24 of the 25 SSC’s have provided LMI for this project and these will be published on advice resources as full reference documents, however we are in the process of ensuring that these documents are re-produced in a format more easily accessible to advisers while provided support to clients both face to face and over the phone.
